2026 Grand Design Lineage LVTI Class Bs with expanded solar and lithium power By Howard J Elmer

For the 2026 model year, motorized RVs are focusing on advanced electrical systems, enhanced connectivity, and functional residential-style interiors. This is a significant shift in the RV market, because motorized units have long been the narrowest slice of the RV pie. Not anymore as each version is growing. Arm in arm with the rise of overall off-grid capability there is a surge in the number of Class B vans being offered. This trend speaks to an RVer who wants to cover lots of ground and get out and do things. This is a shift that started slowly during the pandemic. There was some speculation these gains would die out when pandemic restrictions were lifted. But that has not happened; in fact, this trend seems to have found roots in new Class B travel vans—not just packages but all-new models from the ground up. One reason for this must be the expanded solar and lithium power options. Many manufacturers are also increasing the number of standard solar packages being offered. Larger lithium battery banks are also being offered as options. These make extended off-

grid stays more feasible. Higher-output alternators and DC-to-DC chargers are also being integrated to recharge house batteries faster while driving
