Fire Integrated Real Time Intelligence Systems (FIRIS)

Statewide Emergency Awareness

Since 2020, AEVEX first supported Orange County Fire Authority on FIRIS then transitioned the program over to California’s Office of Emergency Services in June 2023. We collaborated with these agencies to mature the concept adding sensors, new technologies, additional aircraft, and extended aircraft and Fusion Center operations to better serve the people of California.

Custom and Flexible Software Backbone

AEVEX’s own GeoFOCIS integrated mission management software is the backbone of the

airborne architecture, integrating multiple sensors and communication systems into a comprehensive collection and dissemination system. The software processes the data to create tailored products and the information is then sent via satellite and cellular LTE for immediate use by California senior leaders and first responders on computer and mobile devices. Products are also shared with UCSD for further processing resulting in highly accurate incident mapping and forecast modeling.

Quick Reaction Capability Solutions The AEVEX Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) team is comprised of subject matter experts that incorporate best practices from industry and our vast military experience with leading edge technology in sensors, collection, processing, and dissemination of critical information. AEVEX brings the same QRC capability to the state of CA and the FIRIS program as we do to our most demanding DoD and industry customers. This QRC team successfully expanded FIRIS support from 1 12-hour and 1 24-hour available aircraft for 6-months to 2 aircraft supporting 24/7 365 operations. Increased capability by adding all weather radar, Automated Information System (AIS) and FM radio for maritime operations, and Team Awareness Kit (TAK) system for near real time dissemination to handheld devices.
