New Standards Work
OPEI LRC Digital Product Label Standard OPEI con nues work on a new standard for a digital regulatory compliance label. OPEI filed an ANSI Project Intent No fica on System (PINS) to ini ate the ANSI process for a new “Regulatory Compliance Digital Marking” standard. Development of the dra standard is expected wrap up in June at which me the dra will be made available for consensus body and public review. Publica on is expected in 2026. B175.1 Chain Saw Standard OPEI has completed revision of B175.1-2021 chain saw standard. OPEI received approval for recogni on of the reaffirma on as an American Na onal Standard on March 13. The revised standard is expected to be published in June. B175.2:2012 (R2019) Leaf Blower / Vacuum Standard The B175.2 Commi ee is mee ng to review proposals for revisions to the -2012 (R2019) standard. Proposed revisions are expected to be available for consensus body and public this year. B175.7:2018 Powered Pruner Standard OPEI submi ed a Project Ini a on No fica on System no ce on October 28 ini a ng the ANSI- process to revise the standard. The commi ee is mee ng to finalize proposed revisions -2018 standard. The revised standard is expected to be completed later this year or early 2026. OPEI 5395-3:2024 Ride-on Lawnmowers The member commi ee is currently considering possible revisions to mi gate CPSC-priori zed operator hazards. An ini al mee ng is planned for June 18. OPEI 5395-4:202X Flail lawnmowers, aerators, scarifiers The member commi ee is currently dra ing a new standard, with planned publica on some me in 2026. The group last met on June 6, and plan to next meet on July 10. OPEI 5395-5:202X Other turf care equipment The member commi ee is currently dra ing a new standard, with planned publica on some me in 2026. The group last met on May 21, and plan to next meet on June 23. B71.3:2014 (R2020) Snowthrowers The member commi ee is planning to adopt ISO 8437-1, -2, -3, -4 in place of B71.3, with planned publica on as early as 2026.
