Big Cats

That is the fastest running speed of any land animal. Unlike other cats, the cheetah’s claws stay out as it runs, gripping the soil for quick twists and turns. Its long tail helps, too, swinging like a rudder so the cheetah can outmaneuver its target. As it draws close, the cheetah reaches out its front paw to swat the prey’s hind legs, tripping it headfirst into a tumble. Then the cheetah strikes.
