These cheetah cubs have just started to follow their mother as she hunts and to share her food. Themother is watching for lions, leopards, and hyenas, which could attack her cubs.
After a few weeks the cubs will become very active. They play near the den, wrestling each other and pouncing on anything that moves. It might be a leaf, a butterfly, or their mother’s tail. This play is very important. The cubs are developing the skills and coordination they will need later to catch prey.
