Year One & Year Two
Electrical Technology Year 1
This program offers foundational skills for entry into the electrical field, teaching students to install wiring systems based on blueprints and in compliance with the National Electrical Code. Participants gain hands-on experience in wiring residential and commercial projects, mastering tasks such as wire splicing, receptacle and switch installation, as well as handling light fixtures, low voltage systems, and conduit systems.
Electrical Technology Year 2
Designed for second-year students, this program builds upon foundational knowledge with advanced skills in electrical installation. Students continue to work with blueprints and adhere to the National Electrical Code while installing wiring systems, receptacles, switches, light fixtures, and low voltage systems across various projects within the school district. Emphasizing real-world application, students engage in daily exposure to practical scenarios while also discussing ethical business practices and financial considerations. Graduates of the two-year program receive credit for all 576 classroom hours required for their Journeyman license.

Class Projects
Hands-on projects are a cornerstone of the electrical technology program, providing students with invaluable practical experience and skill development. Through these projects, students not only apply theoretical knowledge but also gain confidence in tackling real-world electrical challenges. This hands-on approach fosters critical thinking,
Hands-on learning fosters practical skills & understanding
Residential Wiring Simulation Year One Project
Students will simulate wiring a residential building based on provided blueprints, focusing on installing electrical systems in a safe and code- compliant manner. This project will involve tasks such as running cables, installing outlets, switches, and light fixtures, and connecting to the main electrical panel..
REGION 10 TECH
Circuit Troubleshooting Exercise
Year One Project
Students will practice diagnosing and troubleshooting common electrical circuit faults in a controlled lab environment. Using multimeters and other diagnostic tools, they will identify issues such as short circuits, open circuits, and faulty components, and develop strategies to rectify them effectively.
Commercial Electrical Installation Year Two Project
In this project, students will collaborate to plan and execute the electrical installation for a commercial building. Working from blueprints, they will install and wire complex electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, and specialized equipment connections. Emphasis will be placed on meeting industry standards, adhering to safety regulations, and coordinating with other trades.

Careers & Salaries
As society increasingly relies on electricity for almost every aspect of daily life, the demand for skilled electricians continues to grow. With the expanding infrastructure of smart homes, renewable energy systems, and advanced technology, electricians play a vital role in ensuring the safe installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the field of electricians is projected to grow by 8% between now and 2030, a rate faster than the average for all occupations. This growth is attributed to the need for upgrades to aging electrical systems, the expansion of renewable energy projects, and the integration of new technologies into homes and businesses. As such, pursuing a career in electrical technology offers not only stability but also ample opportunities for advancement and specialization in an evolving industry.
Completion of two years in our program provides the hours neces- sary for a Journeyman’s license whch commands higher salaries:
Master Electrician $70,000 - $100,000+ (for experienced master electricians) Master electricians have obtained their journeyman’s license and typically have several years of experience. They oversee electrical projects, train apprentices, and ensure com- pliance with electrical codes and regulations. Electrical Contractor $75,000-$150,000+ (for established contractors) Electrical contractors are licensed professionals who oversee electrical projects from start to finish. They bid on projects, manage teams of electricians, and ensure that work meets quality and safety standards. Electrical Engineer $97,970 - $150,000+ per year (for experienced engineers in special- ized fields or leadership roles) With a journeyman’s license, individuals may pursue further education to become elec- trical engineers. Electrical engineers design, develop, and test electrical systems and equipment. They may work in industries such as manufacturing, telecommunications, or power generation. Automation Engineer $88,240-$130,000+ per year (for experienced engineers with ex- pertise in advanced automation technologies) Automation engineers design, develop, and implement automated systems used in manufacturing and industrial processes. They may specialize in robotics, PLC program- ming, or control systems design. Electrical Project Manager $89,000-$130,000+ per year (for project managers with ex- tensive experience and successful project delivery) Electrical project managers oversee the planning, execution, and completion of electri- cal projects. They coordinate with clients, engineers, and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Renewable Energy Consultant $77,000 - $120,000+ (for consultants with specialized knowledge and a track record of successful projects) Renewable energy consultants advise clients on implementing renewable energy solu- tions such as solar, wind, or hydroelectric systems. They assess feasibility, design sys- tems, and provide expertise on regulatory compliance. Technical Trainer/Instructor $60,000- $100,000+ per year (for experienced trainers with industry certifications and advanced teaching skills) Technical trainers or instructors teach electrical concepts, codes, and practices to ap- prentices, students, or employees.
