The Lotus Footprint: Residential Facilities & Senior Centers Here’s a highlight of all the Lotus footprint: Aging-in-place housing facilities, newly built and renovated senior centers, and New Headquarters with commercial kitchen.

Dumas House The Dumas House Incorporation, established in 1998, is an independent living community that caters to low- income seniors aged 62 and above. It provides housing for elderly, disabled individuals, and families under Section 202 of the National Housing Act through an agreement with the Department of HUD. The facility features 66 one-bedroom aging-in-place units, complete with full kitchen and living room space. The Dumas House offers a range of amenities to its residents. These include a beauty shop, two laundry rooms, a library, a computer lab, and common areas with lounging spaces and entertainment. The facility has a unique aspect that sets it apart from others. The senior center is located on The Lotus Village One of the pillars promised to seniors in the East Baton Rouge Parish was affordable housing, and the EBR Council on Aging has developed a blueprint for seniors to age in place instead of moving into long-term nursing facilities. The Lotus Village concept aims to create an environment that can meet the needs of the growing elder population and allow seniors to remain in their homes and communities. With a partnership between

the campus, providing seniors with an opportunity to congregate and interact with each other. This helps them fulfill their social, physical, emotional, and intellectual needs. The senior center offers a range of therapeutic activities, board games, bingo, fitness, and other engaging activities. The facility also provides a nutritional balanced hot meal five days a week. This ensures that the seniors receive healthy and nourishing food, which contributes to their overall well-being. EBRCOA and Gulf Coast Housing Partnership, a non-profit housing developer, the EBRCOA received $21 million in funding from the Louisiana Housing Corporation, among other sources, totaling $27 million for the project. The Lotus Village is situated in the historical neighborhood of Gracie subdivision, known as “The Lakes,” and features 116 mixed units, all equipped with appliances such as front-load washer/dryer, NEST thermostat, walk-in shower, and more, for a comfortable living
