Misericordia Women's League 2025 Program Book

“I shall pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer it or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” ~Stephen Grellet

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the Misericordia Women’s League, I would like to welcome you to our Heart of Gold, Turning Green to Gold, St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Tonight, we are celebrating love, friendship and loyalty. This year will be our biggest celebration yet, and we are thrilled that you are here to share in the excitement with us. We cannot thank you enough for your continued generosity towards Misericordia Home. Your donations do make a difference! The funds we raise every year help defray the $34 million funding gap needed to run Misericordia’s world renowned programming and residential care. And this year Misericordia will open and staff 16 new houses at Sister Rosemary Park and 3 new homes in the community, allowing Misericordia to welcome more than 140 new residents. We would like to thank Sister Rosemary, Father Jack and Lois Gates for their dedication and leadership at Misericordia. They inspire all of us to serve others. Tonight, we are honored to recognize Lois and her husband, Dr. Dennis Gates, for their “Hearts of Gold”. We also must thank Anne Mills, Tim Young, Julie O’Sullivan, Kevin Connelly, and Rose Martin for their continued guidance and support. Tonight would not be possible without the team effort of our 185 League members, who share their time and talent with Misericordia. They’ve worked tirelessly over the past eight months to make Heart of Gold a success. Not only is our League made up of some of the smartest, hard-working women, they are some of the loveliest people you will ever meet. I’m fortunate to work alongside all of them. Finally, I must give a huge thank you to our fabulous benefit co-chairs, Irene Costello, Kelly Coyne, and Tina Dillon! They put their hearts into making this benefit a memorable one, all while juggling family, work and life. They truly have “Hearts of Gold”! And Diane Fritz, League Vice-President, has provided valuable guidance and support along the way. It’s been a joy and a blessing to collaborate with them. As we celebrate love, friendship and loyalty, let’s remember that Misericordia is an extraordinary place that allows over 600 residents to have a fruitful life. It’s a blessing for so many people to be able to call Misericordia home, and all of you help make that possible.

With heartfelt gratitude, Stephanie Clark President, Misericordia Women’s League
