China On April 23, 2025, the Agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Mutual Visa Exemption for Holders of Ordinary Passports was signed. It will be in effect from July 16, 2025. Under the agreement, Chinese citizens holding valid ordinary passports and Azerbaijani citizens holding valid ordinary passports will be exempt from visa requirements when entering, exiting, or transiting the other country for stays of up to 30 days per visit, with a cumulative limit of 90 days within any 180 days. Travellers must apply for the appropriate visa before entry for stays exceeding 30 days, long- term residency, or activities requiring prior approval (such as work, study, or journalism).
