A handful may attend, but all those who don’t attend will perceive you as the expert in the field. Here’s my new motto: “If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em!” For the last two years, I have been hosting two- hour seminars for self-managing landlords entitled, “The 12 Basics to Property Management.” In the seminar, I share with landlords how to properly manage their rental(s), including providing them with access to our lease, tenant handbook, and all other pertinent rental forms. Why on earth would a property manager provide all this to self-managing landlords? Let me give you three good reasons.
3. You are providing education to an uneducated audience. I would estimate 95 percent of self-managing landlords have received no training on property management. With your seminar, you are providing the “rising tide that lifts all boats.”
