BANANA WALNUT OATMEAL (not diabetes-friendly)
Ingredients
cup non-fat dry milk

1 pinch salt 2¾ cups water
2 cups quick-cooking oats 2 mashed bananas, very ripe 2 tablespoons maple syrup 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
Instructions
1. In a small saucepan, combine non-fat dry milk, salt, and water. Heat over medium heat until steaming hot, but not boiling. 2. Add oats and cook, stirring until creamy, 1 to 2 minutes. 3. Remove pan from the heat and stir in mashed banana and maple syrup. Divide among bowls, garnish with walnuts, and serve. Notes • May substitute 2 cups water or 2 cups skim milk for the non-fat dry milk. • May use pancake syrup or reduced-calorie syrup in place of maple syrup. • May use other nuts in place of walnuts.
