The primary bedroom is a retreat, with a quaint window seat and private deck. The fireplace is one of nine in the home. The decorative wall is a fresh resawn fir to add texture to the look. The beams are structural and support a gable roof.
Because of the home’s Northwest location, it was built with as many natural materials as possible, including real stone and cedar siding, said builder Rich Boettcher. Composite roofing designed to replicate cedar shakes helps the home blend with its natural surroundings and allows it to fit nicely with Black Rock’s rustic aesthetic. Yet, modern elements give the home its own unique style. “It has a softer palette than most of Black Rock,” designer Lynn Fleming says.
