Closest city to the trailhead: St. Maries, Idaho Average Distance of hike: 3 miles Why do you recommend it? Though not long or difficult, Hobo Creek Trail is interesting and scenic. Part of the Marble Creek trail system, Hobo Creek flows into Marble Creek, which then flows into the St. Joe Riv - er. The trail is surrounded by grand fir, hemlock, cedar and douglas fir.

What was most noteworthy? I enjoyed a drive up the St. Joe Riv- er, then up Marble Creek stopping often to take in the sights. The hike had informative signs explaining the history of the area.
