National Resources Inventory http://www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/portal/nrcs/detail/national/technical/ nra/?cid=nrcs143_014196 A statistical survey of land use and natural resource conditions and trends on U.S. nonfed- eral lands. Te current inventory was published in 2007.

Programs to reduce soil erosion, enhance water supplies, improve water quality, increase wildlife habitat, and reduce damages caused by foods and other natural disasters. NRCS provides funding opportunities for agricultural producers and other landowners through these programs.

Long Leaf Pine Initiative http://www.nc.nrcs.usda.gov/programs/EQIP/Longleaf_Pine_North_Caorlina.html Te Longleaf pine ecosystem provides critical habitat for 29 threatened and endangered species and is a priority resource concern. Incorporates both technical and fnancial assis- tance to help NC landowners improve habitat on agricultural land, nonindustrial private forest and Tribal land by implementing conservation practices including planting longleaf pine, installing frebreaks, conducting prescribed burning and controlling invasive plants.
