Te Conservation Incentives Program assists landowners and conservation organizations with NC conservation tax credits and with information about other state and federal con- servation incentive programs. Te program was established as mandated by GS §113A-231, §105-130.34, and §105-151.12 to be an incentive for private landowners to voluntarily conserve their land. Te program promotes conservation of ecosystem functions (fsh and wildlife conservation and conservation of natural areas), ecosystem services (farm- land conservation), and other public benefts (public access to public trails, waters, and beaches).

Coastal Habitat Protection Plan (CHPP) http://portal.ncdenr.org/web/mf/55
Te CHPP provides information on the ecological role and function of aquatic coastal habitats for fsheries, provides status and trends information on fsh habitats, describes and documents threats, and identifes research and management needs.
Oyster Sanctuary Program http://portal.ncdenr.org/web/mf/nc-oyster-sanctuary-program
Oyster sanctuaries are constructed reefs built to attract native oyster larvae, as well as clams, juvenile fnfsh, crabs, and marine organisms, which in turn attract larger fsh, enhancing hook-and-line fshing. Harvest of oysters and the use of bottom-disturbing gear are prohibited in the sanctuaries, allowing a brood stock of oysters to develop. Currently,
