Press Toward The Mark
Jim Rowlett www.jimrowlett.com Matthew 16:26
Scripture:
Philippians 3: 13-14 “…forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark…”
A couple of weeks back I was reminded, once again, of the connec- tion between our spiritual walk and various things in or on our vehicles. Have you ever given thought about the size of your wind- shield and the relative size of the rearview mirror? Country music singer, Mac Davis had a song years ago about seeing
Lubbock, Texas, in his rearview mirror. While I don’t necessarily agree with his thoughts, I enjoy the song. We need to see what’s coming ahead, but not concen- trate on what is behind. We should not worry about things in our past, except to make cor- rections going forward. We can- not fix what is past we can only learn from our mistakes, and do better going forward. I think we
all have an opportunity to be a witness for Jesus Christ but many times we let the opportu- nity pass us by. I am excited to see what God has in store for me going for- ward. I hope you are excited as well! Where are you on your jour- ney? Have you really gotten start- ed? Make that decision today! Keep your eye on the prize and you’ll be glad you did!
