and give, and go ere the nigh t comes when no m an can work. Mr. Pietsch’s letter explains what he would like me to do: “Welcome to Pakistan! You have a big welcome awaiting you in our TEAM field . . . The formerly closed tribal territory to the northwest of our district is being entered by one of our missionaries. If you would like to rough it, we can take you on a trip into th a t area. Fu rther west there are some other former tribal areas which have recently been taken over by the Pakistan government . . . a young fellow who lives over in that direction said he would take me on a trip into those areas . . . I’ve been wanting to make a trip to Afghanis tan and would count it a joy to be able to accompany you on such a trip . . . The American Christian congre gation there would be happy to have you speak for them. . . . There are a number of other possibilities where you m ight speak bu t it depends prim arily on your plans.” Do you wonder th a t I w ant to retu rn and to look upon other whitened harvest fields th a t I may bring the report of other land yet to be possessed for Christ to all of you? Allah, are slowing them down for Communism is whol ly atheistic. The other nigh t two of my son-in-law’s University students came to see him. One was a devout Muslim and the other, also a Muslim, but a skeptic who seemed to be seeking something. W hile we were having tea and a little visit, I asked them m any questions about the Muslim world. I wanted to know if there would be any possibility of my visiting their Muslim holy city of Mecca. They assured me th a t I could enter th a t city if I took one of them as my guide. I trust th a t one day—possi bly next year—I may be able to take th a t journey. Thank you for praying for me. My plans for the fu ture, as I now see them, are to join the Biola Bible and Missionary Conference Tour a t Cairo, Egypt, where I w ill meet Dr. Oran Smith, director of the tour, and Dr. Charles L. Feinberg, and others. This tour through Pales tine and certain countries of Europe w ill take a month after which I now hope to re tu rn to the states for our summer conferences at Mt. Hermon and the Firs in the state of Washington. After that, God w illing, I shall re tu rn to Pakistan and make a missionary itinerary w ith Bill Pietch, another Biola graduate, laboring in West Pakistan. I quote a part of Mr. Pietsch’s “welcome to Pakistan” letter which I received upon my arrival in Karachi. I trust to bring home some new slides so that you can see something of the struggle the missionaries have w ith dirt, dust, deviltry and disease. We must pray,
