make him as near like Christ as it is possible for a redeemed sinner to be. The accuracy of God in numerics is revealed in the structure and life of the honeybee. In a strange way God has used the number three with this little bit of life. It has three eyes in the top of its head and three pairs of legs. Each leg is in three parts and on the end of each leg are three toes. It has three stomachs and three scales on the underside of the body by which it makes the wax for the cells. The cells are six-sided. The bee has a sting which is in three parts. On each sting there are three barbs. Around the sting are three sets of muscles which work involuntarily. The bee is hatched from the egg in periods of time that are multiples of three. The first three days are spent in the cell. The next three days in the hive, but out of the cell. If, after it flies about the country-side, it comes back to the site of the hive and finds that the hive has been moved nine feet, the bees will settle on the ground where the hive was located when it left in the morning, but they will never find the hive which is just nine feet away. As God has regulated the life of the bee, so He will regulate our lives if we permit Him to make us what He wants us to be, and to control our time and our coming and going as the Spirit of God may lead. It may be that the factories who make cement mixing trucks obtained their idea from the bee. The bee ob tains nectar at the flower and on the way back to the hive it manufactures the honey. These revolving mixture trucks obtain the ingredients at the plant, mix it on the way to the job, and deliver the finished product. Houseflies aré a proof of God’s wonder-working power. On each foot of the fly will be found a large num ber of hollow hairs. This little tube runs up into the foot of the fly where there is a tiny sac of gum. When the fly presses its feet against the ceilings or against the window pane, many tiny spots of glue firmly hold the fly so that it does not slip nor fall. Thus God has fixed this little pest in a way that it can preserve its life. It is ready for every emergency. Its eyes contain a thousand facets. When you seek to strike the fly with a swatter it sees a thousand swatters coming at it and hence makes its exit very quickly. From this we learn the lesson that no matter how weak we are nor what circumstances surround us our blessed THE KING'S BUSINESS

T he miracles which God is con stantly p e r f o r m i n g in nature contain many delightful lessons for the Christian. We find in Romans 12:2 that the Spirit of God will “ trans form” us. The word that is used here is metamorphosis, and it means a complete change in the form of life. The word describes the change that takes place when a yellow caterpillar weaves around itself a casket that is waterproof, heatproof, airproof and lightproof. There it lies dormant while a peculiar and m y s t e r i o u s change takes place, so that after the winter months are past there emerges a beautiful, brightly colored butterfly. The hair has changed to scales, one million to the square inch. The four teen legs have been replaced by six legs, and the other eight are not in the cocoon. The eleven segments in its body have changed to three seg ments, and the other eight are not 16

in the casket. It went in crawling, but it comes out flying. It went in with a mouth that can eat leaves, but it comes out with a proboscis that sucks the nectar from the flowers. This change is a picture of that which God promises to the man or the woman who will permit the Holy Spirit to change his life from that of a sinner to that of a saint. The grub which crawls around in the mire and muck of the green scummed board undergoes a meta morphosis. After a season in the mud it is possessed with a strange feeling and says goodby to its brothers and sisters as it climbs the reed to the sur face of the water. There the shell bursts open and there emerges the beautiful dragon fly which flits about here and there in the sunshine, living an entirely different life from the mire and muck. So it is with God’s child who invites the Spirit of God to
