She spent most of her time in I Corinthians 13 and on the last four verses of the 15th chapter. May 7, 8 and 9 In grandma’s lap every afternoon now. It’s comfortable and such a nice spot. Sometimes she reads me, and sometimes she talks to me. May 10 Grandma’s gone. Back in the old place again. She kissed me goodbye though. June 4 Had a couple of four-leaf clovers stuck in me today. July 1 Packed in a suitcase with clothes and other things. Off on a vacation, I guess.
January 6 Despite resolution, been r e s t i n g quietly for two days. The first four days of the new year, my owner read me regularly, but he has forgotten me, I guess. February 2 Clean up! I was dusted with other things and put back in my place. February 3 Owner used me for a short time, looked up a few references. Then went to Sunday School. What a nice
thing else has been taken out.
July 15 Home again, quite a journey, al though I don’t see why I went along. August 1 Rather stuffy and hot. Have two magazines, a novel, and an old hat on top of me. Wish they’d take them off. September 10 Finally, clean-up. Dusted and set right again. September 12 Used by Mary a few moments to day. She was writing a letter to a friend whose brother had died and she wanted an appropriate verse. October 6 Was carried to S u n d a y S c h o o l , Rally Day. I was even held up high and counted. Glad to be of some use. January 1 I had a knife stuck in me for the family’s New Year celebration. Each member around the table was blind folded, and in turn picked out a verse for the year by this odd method. One of them found this verse, John 5:30: “ Search the scriptures, for in them ye have eternal life, and they are they which testify of me.”
