Digital technology including software, AI (Artificial Intelligence), and Augmented Reality (AR) are being utilised by companies around the world to improve business and production practices. The impact of digital technology, its development and utilisation mean that people entering this industry can access a wide range of careers across any industry or sector.
315 HOURS INDUSTRY PLACEMENT
WHAT WILL I LEARN? You will develop an understanding of:
Ï how digital technologies impact business Ï the ethical and moral implications of digital technology Ï using data in software design Ï using digital technologies to analyse and solve problems Ï digital environments Ï emerging technical trends (eg AI) Ï legal and regulatory obligations Ï the privacy and confidentiality of personal data Ï internet security Ï planning digital projects Ï testing software, hardware, and data.
In addition to the core content, each student will also develop skills in digital production, design, and development. The content will include:
Ï designing, implementing, and testing software Ï changing, maintaining, and supporting software Ï creating solutions in a social and collaborative environment Ï discovering, evaluating, and applying reliable sources of knowledge Ï applying ethical principles and managing risks in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
