A L A S K A C A L L I N G The Slavic Gospel Association has been preaching the Gospel in Alaska for 20 years. ☆ Beginning January, 1958, our work there became known as the ALASKA GOSPEL ASSOCIATION, of the Slavic Gospel Association. A group of young people assemble outside of the Youth Center building during one of their recent Bible conferences. These are the potential leaders of the Orient whom we claim for the Lord Jesus Christ. Known as the “ Deep Well Centre,” each summer six Bible conferences are conducted, in addition to serving as a rallying point for other Christian gather ings. Since the communists took over China, thousands of people have streamed across the “bamboo curtain” seeking refuge. Many young people are working in factories near the BIOLA center. These are being reached by the missionaries through dedicated and ceaseless effort. Pray for the ministry of the Bible Insti tute of Los Angeles, Inc., in Hong Kong.

Dean Cheng, in charge of the Youth Cen ter, with Dr. Roberts, Superintendent of the entire BIOLA ministry in the Orient. Dr. and Mrs. Charles A. Roberts, Superintendent of BIOLA in Hong Kong, work tirelessly among the youth of this vital area of the world. Today, the last stronghold of democracy on the China mainland is not without testimony of the Gospel. The Roberts conduct regular church services, maintain a Christian bookstore, treat thousands physically in need through a medical clinic, train boys and girls in evangelical schools, and reach the teenagers through the Youth Center. (Money for the structure was provided in part through gifts of Bible Institute students in Los Angeles.)
