Multi Sensory Environments (MSE) or Sensory Rooms are dedicated, flexible spaces where individuals can experience a wide-range of sensory stimulation to assist with regulation, relaxation, therapy and/or learning. WHAT IS A MULTI SENSORY ENVIRONMENT?
There are several key elements a MSE/Sensory Room should have to be successful:
Comfortable/Welcoming - A safe place to learn and relax.
Empowering - A place that allows an individual to take the lead and explore at his or her own pace.
Variety - Provide a wide range of opportunities.
