½ oz active dry yeast ½ cup warm water (do not exceed 100F) ½ cup warm milk (do not exceed 100F) ¼ cup sugar ½ cup shortening or margarine 2 eggs 1 tsp salt 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup bread flour

Instructions 1. In a mixing bowl place, the yeast, warm water and warm milk. Whisk until combined together. 2. When the yeast mix is frothy add the rest of your ingredients. 3. Using a dough hook attachment mix until fully combined. 4. Place your mixed dough into a greased container and leave to rest for 30minutes, in a warmer environment, it will double in size. 5. Place the dough on a floured surface and punch it down, fold it over three times, it will start to feel slightly tougher. 6. Pat down the down, with a circle cutter cut out circles. Then take each circle and poke a hole through the middle and place on a heavily greased pan. 7. You can now heat up your oil to 350F. 8. Then heat your glaze in the microwave for 1minute or until warm to the touch. 9. Fry each doughnut on each side for about a minute or until golden brown, immediately place in glaze when you are finished frying, toss on each side and remove from glaze.

Doughnut Glaze

5oz powdered sugar ¼ cup milk ¼ tsp vanilla extract 1. Whisk all ingredients together and slightly heat until warm to the touch.
