MAKING CLOTHES THE RIGHT WAY. THE FRUIT WAY.
At Fruit of the Loom, we’ve been making our own garments responsibly for years – it’s what we call The Fruit Way. For any business talking about sustainability, actions will always be more important than words. At Fruit of the Loom, we’re about creating real change and continuous improvement, backed by real results that support our work. We take pride in the impact we’ve made so far: supporting our workforce, reducing environmental impact, and being transparent about how we operate a business that makes millions of garments every month.
We openly share what we do, how we do it and how we think we can improve. This brochure is a summary of what we have achieved so far. Hopefully it demonstrates that when you choose Fruit of the Loom, you’re not only choosing great garments at great value, you’re choosing to work with a manufacturer committed to doing things the right way, The Fruit Way – and in a commitment supported by facts, not just words.

Applies to 100% of our collection, offering peace of mind to both businesses and end customers
OEKO-TEX ® Standard 100 tests for over 1,000 harmful substances
Independent testing at every stage of production
This level of certification provides added assurance that our garments are both safe and sustainable from start to finish.
MADE BY US, IN MOROCCO.
At our purpose-built facility in Morocco, we do things The Fruit Way — responsibly and with full control. While other brands ship their garments over from factories far across the other side of the world, we produce our Ts, Sweats and Polos on the doorstep of Europe. Minimal transport means a far smaller CO 2 footprint. Fruit of the Loom is already a better environmental choice. Morocco is at the heart of our commitment to sustainability:
Free employee transport, on-site medical and dental care
Full control over quality, colour, and consistency
Fair pay and a strong commitment to worker wellbeing
Fast, efficient transport to Europe with reduced environmental impact
Industry-leading safety features including safety equipment, emergency tunnels and our own fire brigade

Our Moroccan facility sets the environmental benchmark for how we operate – and it’s where we make the majority of our garments, including our Iconic Ts, Premium Polos, and Classic Sweats. Iconic Premium Sweats are the latest garments to be brought 100% in-house. For the few products we don’t manufacture ourselves, we partner only with suppliers who meet our strict Code of Conduct and we regularly audit their operations.

MADE TO LAST, NOT HERE FOREVER.™ Synthetic textiles can shed microplastics into the environment through manufacturing, wearing and washing. As part of our uncompromising commitment to sustainability we're using CiCLO ® polyester in our garments, starting with our new Iconic Premium Sweats and Iconic 250 Sweats. CiCLO ® technology helps synthetic fibres biodegrade naturally, behaving more like natural fibres such as wool and cotton, preventing them from lasting forever in the environment. Every garment we make helps make a difference.

TEXTILE
WE’RE COMMITTED TO REDUCING WASTE WHEREVER WE CAN AND RECYCLING WHAT WE CAN’T.
Zero textile waste to landfill from all our own facilities, including manufacturing, distribution, and offices
Smarter production technology helps us cut patterns more efficiently, creating less scrap
Textile waste is recycled into new yarn fibres or repurposed , for example as filler for car seats
Since 2018, we’ve exceeded our 95% waste diversion goal every year and in 2024 we achieved Zero Textile Waste for the 7th consecutive year. Furthermore we have optimised our cutting to design-out waste in our production processes.
RETHINKING PACKAGING. REDUCING WASTE. FROM PLASTIC TO PACKAGING, WE CONTINUE TO REDUCE AND USE BETTER.
We’ve overhauled our approach to packaging, inside and out:
We only use recycled materials in our packaging
All cartons in Morocco are made from 100% recycled fibres
Polybags and carton liners have been virtually eliminated
We’ve eliminated baler bags at all our facilities and from sourced suppliers saving 12.5 tons of plastic annually
PUTTING ALL OUR ENERGY INTO RENEWABLES.
At Fruit of the Loom, sustainable energy is a priority. We’re already making strong progress, and we’re not stopping there.
95% renewable electricity powers our Morocco production plant
Most of this clean energy comes from wind farms
All part of our wider goal to cut CO 2 emissions by 2030
TREATING NATURAL RESOURCES WITH RESPECT.
Our advanced purpose-built treatment plant at our Moroccan facility helps us save water and protect natural resources. Using technology specifically designed for us, we’re one of the few companies in the world using such a process to reduce water consumption in garment production.
Up to 60% of wastewater is recycled Uses advanced processes like activated sludge, sand filtration, ultrafiltration, and reverse osmosis We have decreased water intensity by over 24% since 2018
Committed to saving water every year. 2024 vs. 2023: 66.8 million litres saved – equal to almost 27 Olympic swimming pools At our Morocco Facility we also harvest our rainwater to a dedicated storage to use for irrigation
