Education and Qualifications Essential: • A recognised professional qualification / membership underpinning a relevant area of the service to be delivered. Desirable: • Membership of a professional body e.g. MRICS, MCIBSE, IWFM, MICE, CEng • Understanding of Health and Safety legisla- tion Specialist knowledge and skills • Broad working knowledge base encom- passing range of service activities e.g. cap- ital planning, construction, asset manage- ment, project management, soft facilities. • Familiar with computer aided facilities man- agement systems. • Excellent IT skills with ability to work with IT specialists to produce fit for purpose facili - ties systems. • Strong project management skills Leadership and Management • Demonstrate strong leadership and man- agement skills capable of leading and developing a high-performance, customer focussed team. • Proven ability to motivate and develop all staff and deal effectively with under per- formance by setting clear standards and actively supporting their maintenance. • Embraces change, communicates a vision and drives a culture of continuous improve- ment. Relevant Experience Essential: • Track record of effective budget manage- ment. • At least 5 years relevant experience of suc- cessfully leading a multi-disciplinary service team. • Experience of working in a similar demand- ing environment and role. • Demonstrable experience of delivering effi - cient, effective and VFM services in a cus- tomer focussed, commercial environment. • Capable of reconciling competing priorities and responding to change and the require- ment to effectively work across all institutes. • Good decision-making skills with an ability to assimilate information from a wide variety
of sources. • Ability to take initiative and promote ideas and concepts. • Able to demonstrate sound, rational judge- ment while working under pressure.
