NORTHERN REGIONAL COLLEGE CAUSEWAY CAMPUS, COLERAINE
RAISED-ACCESS FLOORING SYSTEMS Drew Wylie Building Services Ltd (DWBS) provided raised- access flooring systems throughout the NRC Coleraine Campus, sourcing, supplying and installing approximately 3,000sqm/98 tonnes of materials. Most panels installed were from the medium-grade Kingspan RMG system, while its heavy-grade RHG panel was selected for certain floor areas which needed to cope with heavier loads and equipment. Commercial buildings and the education sector are a focus for DWBS, which has completed work at regional colleges in Enniskillen and Armagh and is currently on site again alongside main contractor Heron Bros Ltd’s at NRC’s new Ballymena campus. Having collaborated with Heron Bros in the past, DWBS was delighted to be entrusted to supply and install the raised-access flooring package for the NRC Coleraine project and would like to acknowledge and thank the site team for all its support throughout the project.
ROOFING & CLADDING
Leading contractor Excel Roofing Systems Ltd provided a full roof covering and cladding for the façade of the new NRC campus in Coleraine. The roof covering consisted of a built-up bitumen roof with a Kingspan top-deck panel installation, while the façade was constructed with insulated carrier panelling and a Prefalz standing seam metal cladding finish. Addressing a complex design involving many interfaces with other trades created challenges for the team. However, coordination with the main contractor Heron Bros Ltd was key to the successful completion and handover of works to a high standard. Jonathan Crowe, Director of Excel Roofing Systems, said, “This is a landmark project in Coleraine and the façade is a standout feature of the design. “It is extremely pleasing to be able to provide a quality install of the standing seam façade cladding and roofing for our client on this project.”
