Dowds Group has officially opened new headquarters at Parkway Ballymena following a £3m investment in the site. The company turned to the skills of its Construction division to bring its vision to life. After over 45 years in the industry, Dowds Group required a new office space to facilitate an enhanced and modern workspace that ultimately brings together its team under one roof. The new office layout is designed to promote communication and collaboration, ensuring the team brings the very best to its clients across the UK and Ireland. Dowds Construction played to its strengths of delivering projects where M&E forms a
significant element, to ensure successful delivery of the new facility. The Cat-B office fitout involved stripping the existing office building back to its bare internal shell, and refurbishment of the building’s internal fabric to include exposed services in the finished design. The new M&E and ventilation systems were designed alongside Dowds Energy Solutions’ team to ensure future flexibility and full monitoring and control of the building energy usage. The building aspires to CO2 and carbon reduction via utilising the natural advantages of the office location. Glass partitions and doors were implemented throughout the three-floor building to maximise natural light and offer
views of People’s Park and Lake. Parking for the building now accommodates 100 staff parking spaces and 15 EV charging points as well as a Rapid EV charge point, feeding the company’s wider ESG strategy and ambition to be Net Carbon Zero by 2038. The sleek new office facilities feature enhanced reception and lobby areas, a large modern canteen, health and wellbeing room, and a gym with changing/ showering facilities to emphasis the company’s commitment to delivering a working environment focused on people and aligned with Dowds’ employee well- being initiatives. Each floor contains private phone booths,
