breakout and hot desk spaces, toilet facilities, print rooms, tea stations and new office furniture, with the ground floor of the building let to the Northern Health Trust Encompass Team. Nicholas McKee, Operation Manager at Dowds Construction who oversaw the management of the project, said, “There is always an added pressure working for your own team’s needs; our brief was to create an inspirational environment that also gets our personality across. As with all our projects, our aim was to deliver a space to the highest standard, keeping the needs of the end users as our key focus. We are delighted with the results and feedback from our team has been excellent.” The new office delivery adds to Dowds Construction’s growing portfolio of private and public healthcare, food processing, commercial and warehousing projects throughout NI and the division has recently secured construction of an €8m warehouse facility in ROI. The team continues to grow and has recently appointed Ciaran Tiffney as the new Construction Divisional Director. With
an impressive career spanning over 15 years, Ciaran brings a wealth of experience to his new role, leading the division’s ambitious projects. Managing Director James Dowds said group directors are optimistic for the future, with a multi-million-pound order book and pipeline confirmed for the next 18 months. The investment in the new central hub comes alongside record sales and a return to profit for Dowds Group in the financial year ending in March. Turnover climbed 37.4% to £72.7m, with the business
generating a pre-tax profit of almost £1.5m. The new offices were officially opened by Mid and East Antrim Mayor Gerardine Mulvenna, who attended a renaming of the building as Killagan House in recognition of the founding brothers’ homeplace in April 2024. “We are delighted to make Killagan House and Ballymena our new home,” said James. “The investment in our new state-of-the- art facilities not only allows us to bring our NI team together under one roof but has the capacity to accommodate our future growth.”
