A SEAMLESS COLLABORATION BETWEEN ADRIAN QUEALLY LTD AND FOSROC RESULTED IN A PROJECT COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY AND TO SCHEDULE…
Repairing a wastewater treatment plant
A wastewater treatment plant in Co Donegal is one of a number of water treatment facilities undergoing routine maintenance and repair works. Irish Water appointed specialist surface coatings contractor Adrian Queally Ltd (AQL) to carry out the work, with AQL then reaching out to Fosroc for product specification advice and material supply. Fosroc has a long-standing relationship with AQL, with Fosroc products previously used on several other similar projects in Ireland. At this site, the existing failsafe bund around the sulfuric acid tank required diamond grinding of its inner surfaces,

followed by a suitable coating to infill blowholes and smooth out rough surfaces. It was essential that the finished repair work was able to withstand corrosion from this specific chemical, should a leak occur. THE SOLUTION Renderoc ST05 was used for the infilling of blowholes, with Renderoc HB45 hand applied for a smooth finish. The final step was application of protective coating
Nitocote EN901 to create a barrier layer.
THE BENEFITS The proposed solution provided excellent chemical resistance of the finish coat, while also proving cost effective for the client. The project was completed successfully and to the agreed schedule.
