weekend to spend time with the family and friends. I’ve got two younger brothers, so the priority is looking after them when I get a chance. What are your interests/hobbies outside of work? Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, girlfriend and close friends. This time is limited because I live away from home so I make the most of it when I can. When I’m living away, I entertain myself with lots of exercise. I run around 5-10km a day, lift weights in the gym and train at jiu-jitsu. I can count how many days off I’ve had this year on my hands. I’m lucky enough that my girlfriend moved to England for university to be closer to me and I fly home every other
before university and trying things out. I don’t think it’s fair for 18-year-olds to decide on a course that they have no experience in, potentially waste a few years and get big loans to fund it. I think there should be a push for students to try out workshops for different trades/careers. The best example I’ve seen for the construction industry is Constructionarium in London. I also think the industry could attract more skilled workers through better pay/benefits. Like myself, many people just work in England because the money can be better, or the processes are more refined.
