STEVAN STEVANOVIĆ, PRVI OFICIR A330 STEVAN STEVANOVIĆ, FIRST OFFICER, A330 Koja vam je omiljena avgustovska destinacija? – Verovali ili ne, omiljena destinacija u avgustu je Toronto, Kanada. Pre svega sam jako ponosan što smo ponovo uspeli da povežemo jednu tako dale- ku i bitnu destinaciju direktnim letom, pa je ona kao nova (stara) destinacija vrlo interesantna za istraži- vanje. Takođe, jedan vrlo bitan faktor su vremenski uslovi, koji su u avgustu pravi letnji, uz značajno pri- jatnije temperature od ostatka sveta gde letimo, pa je sam doživljaj tog grada na višem nivou. Uz to bih dodao i Nijagarine vodopade, jedne od najlepših na svetu, koje bih svakome preporučio kada se nađe u blizini – da ih ni po koju cenu ne propusti, to je doživ- ljaj koji se pamti. Ako biste nas ovog avgusta „vozili“ na more, možete li da izaberete tri mesta? – Ukoliko bi izbor morao da se svede na tri morske destinacije, to bi definitivno bile: Larnaka, Palma de Majorka i Palermo. Svako ko je bar jednom svoj letnji odmor proveo na ostrvu zna da na svakom vlada neka posebna energija, stoga će i ove tri destinacije svima pružiti autentičan doživljaj. Dodao bih još da, sa pro- fesionalne strane, letovi ka takvim ostrvima umeju da budu dosta zahtevniji, međutim, impresivan pogled iz pilotske kabine ka takvoj vrsti prirode ono je zbog če- ga se mi piloti uvek rado vraćamo tim destinacijama. Letite na A330, našem najvećem avionu. Koji su vam omiljeni letovi, na istok ili na zapad? – Jako je teško odgovoriti jednom rečju i ta- ko lako dati prednost nekim destinacijama. Kultu- rološki, ove dve strane sveta su dijametralno su- protne, međutim, zaista uživam u svim letovima bez obzira na stranu sveta ka kojoj idu. Aerodromi na koje mi letimo zapravo su jedni od najprometni- jih na celom svetu, a gradovi koje posećujemo pra- ve su svetske metropole. Jako sam zahvalan što mi je priroda posla omogućila da posetim sve te gra- dove, upoznam neke drugačije načine života, kul- ture, religije, istorije i probam neke autentične ga- stronomske specijalitete. Ipak, ne bih želeo da moj odgovor zvuči previše diplomatski, pa ću reći da je moja omiljena destinacija Njujork, grad u kome sam bio već nebrojeno puta i uvek mu se radujem kao da ga posećujem prvi put.
What’s your favourite destination in August? “Believe it or not, but my favourite destination in August is Toronto, Ca- nada. I’m firstly very proud that we managed to reconnect such a distant and important destination with a direct flight, and as such it is, as a new (old) de- stination, very interesting to explore. Likewise, a very important factor is the weather conditions, which are really summery in August, with significantly more pleasant temperatures than the rest of the parts of the world that we fly to, so the very experience of that city is at a higher level. Apart from that, I would add Niagara Falls, as one of the most beautiful spots in the world, whi- ch I would recommend everyone visit when they are nearby – not to miss out on them at any cost, as it is a truly memorable experience.” If you were to transport us to the sea this August, could you choose three places? “If the choice had to be boiled down to three seaside destinations, they would definitely be Larnaca, Palma de Mallorca and Palermo. Anyone who’s at least once spent their summer holiday on an island knows that each of them has a special energy, which is also why these three destinations wi- ll provide everyone with an authentic experience. I would also add that, from a professional aspect, flights to such islands can be much more demanding, but the impressive views of such nature from the cockpit are what ensures that us pilots are always happy to return to those destinations.” You fly the A330, our largest aircraft. Do you prefer eastbound or westbound flights? “It is very difficult to answer in a word and easily prioritise some destina- tions. Culturally, these two sides of the world are diametrically opposed, but I really enjoy all flights, regardless of which side of the world. The airports we fly to are actually some of the busiest airports anywhere in the world, and the ci- ties we visit are genuine world metropolises. I’m extremely grateful that the nature of my job has allowed me to visit all those cities, to get acquainted wi- th some different ways of life, cultures, religions, histories, and to try some authentic gastronomic specialities. Still, I wouldn’t want my answer to sound overly diplomatic, which is why I’ll say that my favourite destination is New York – a city I’ve already been to countless times and that I look forward to ea- ch time as if I’m visiting it for the first time.”
