Welcome to the 13th Annual Caraway Red Angus Bull Sale. We are excited to offer this set of yearling bulls that will fit the commercial cattle operation or seedstock breeder. After moving our sale to March last year, we felt it was the best move for our customers as our bulls were able to develop into a solid set of animals to be ready to work in the summer. Bulls are backgrounded at Darr Bull Devel- opment Center near Cozad, NE, and are well looked after, with routine weigh-ins, walk throughs and health checks. All bulls will be semen tested prior to the sale. The ranch keeps Jon busy full time between our cow herd and our family’s herd. Jon’s main goal when looking at genetics year after year is how to provide bulls with the highest carcass traits as we aim to breed seedstock for the commercial cattleman. In our own commercial herd, we are raising cattle so that we can use our Red Angus genetics to continuously improve. Our calves consistently gain extremely well in the lot and our replacement heifers have been successful in breeding back in a tight calving window. Our greatest joy is the next generation of Caraways- Gabrielle (12), Parker (9) and Meredith (6) who make the late nights and long days all worth it. We involve the kids in every aspect of our cattle ranch and they spend their weekends, school breaks and summers helping and learning the value of hard work. They help with feeding, calving, sorting, vaccinating, breeding, weaning, fencing, and other aspects of ranch life. By giving them first-hand experiences raising cattle, we are preparing them for life as adults and while it has its challenges, the reward is so much more. All cattle are available to be viewed ahead of the sale in March. We are using DVAuction for the sale this year and you will be able to place live bids the day of the sale.
