Jared Franklin is one of Florida’s leading experts for invasive plant and animal management at the 110,000-acre Rookery Bay Reserve. That’s a big job! Non-native plants such as melaleuca, Brazilian pepper, cogon grass and climbing ferns have invaded Florida’s public conservation land, along with a long list of invasive birds, mammals and reptiles such as iguanas and pythons. Jared will tell us about this and Rookery’s Prescribed Fire program for this coming season.
