Mouth Breathing

 Abnormal swallowing pattern

(look for a “grimace” with swallow)

 Open mouth with lips apart at rest

Tongue tie, lip tie

(this can affect breathing and swallowing)

 Unnatural eating patterns (messy, slow, noisy)

 Parafunctional habits (thumb, finger & lip sucking)

 Long face syndrome

Restricted airway (enlarged adenoids/tonsils/turbinates, abnormal anatomical issues of nose/throat)

 Restricted frenums (Tongue- and Lip-tie)  Bad oral habits (current or in the past)
