Friendship Circle Information Packet 2025

Our Programs Friends @ Home Friends @ Home

Friends@Home gives children with special needs the chance to bond with teen volunteers in the environment where they feel most comfortable— their own home. Whether baking cookies, playing games, creating arts and crafts, reading books, or simply having fun, these visits provide a powerful sense of belonging and self-worth for children who may not often experience the joy of having friends over. More than just a typical playdate, Friends@Home equips teen volunteers with ongoing training from specialists in creativity, movement, positive behavior support, occupational therapy, and speech therapy—skills they use during each visit. As meaningful friendships develop between children and volunteers, parents benefit from valuable time to rest and recharge. With so much joy packed into each visit, it’s no surprise that families eagerly look forward to seeing their volunteers each week.
