Malaysian Technology Strategic Outlook

The on-ground implementation of Smart Grid in Melaka successfully integrated four large scale solar farms, two solar rooftop panels, two solar thermals, 11,327 smart meters from residential areas, 50 commercial buildings, and five electric vehicle charging stations and battery systems through the Virtual Energy Management (VEM) Dashboard. Users were able to monitor, manage, and optimise their daily energy consumption more efficiently through the VEM dashboard. As a result of this integration, the project successfully reduced approximately 19,000 tCO 2 eq carbon emissions. This is equivalent to the planting of about 287,000 trees over a period of 10 years. This reduction exceeds the original target of 11,000 tCO 2 eq, and it would not have been achievable without the collaborative spirit of all stakeholders.
