Of what use is money in the hand of a fool sincehe has no desire to get wisdom? Proverbs 17: 16

The second activity we can pursue in our organizations is continued, life-long learning. We each are born with a natural curiosity, with natural joy in learning, and with an unending capacity to learn. These never leave us, even though they may be suppressed. Why should we ever stop learning? We saw earlier that continued development of an organization’s members will increase its value. First Level Development Continued development includes training and education in the group’s economic activity. Sometimes executives and managers neglect even this basic level of development, but often groups pay close attention to specific, technical training. An organization cannot survive and thrive without its members being well trained in its economic activity. This kind of training certainly doesn’t cost, it pays – very directly and even measurably. Second Level Development An organization must pursue excellence in service work with the same vigor and determination it gives to its economic activity. This will include training and education specific to service areas chosen by the organization.
