God is Faithful
A key to understanding God’s faithfulness can be found in the curious opening of the book of James as it praises difficulties in our lives. In this opening James makes a clear distinction that God never sends us the difficulty of temptation because
God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one
James 1: 13b
James expresses that, far from tempting us with evil, God only ever always is the continuing source of good to us:
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation nor turning shadow. James 1: 17
In this opening section about rejoicing in and the benefits of enduring through temptation, James grounds our hopes, our comfort, our confident assurance in God’s unchanging nature of
only ever always working to bring good good good to us.
This is God’s faithfulness. God is always the same. God acts towards us always from God’s nature which never changes which
only ever always working to bring good good good to us in all ways at all time as we will allow as we will accept.
