The ability to act in the role of “designated technical authority” and to advise the University on all structure, engineering and maintenance matters. Proven record of strong leadership and change management skills. Ability to lead a large department fostering a culture of teamwork and co-operation within the tea nally with other stakeholders. Ability to present solutions, negotiate and engage positively with customers and colleagues. Strong influencing, communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate a a wide range of audiences using a variety of techniques. Ability to work closely with customers demonstrating value for money. Substantial experience of managing groups of multi-skilled staff involved both in maintenance and is essential. Knowledge of implementing and developing CAFM and BMS computerised systems. Knowledge of financial management accounting practices in the areas of Infrastructure, Maintenan Environmental. Strong appreciation and knowledge of statutory regulations affecting the operation of buildings wit estate, including those affecting health and safety at work, fire safety, construction, Legionella, as laboratories. High level of computer literacy and ability to assess the need for and to implement systems Experience of 14001 and 18001 management systems. Educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering or building related discipline. Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer, Chartered Surveyor or Chartered Member of the Inst Building or Associate member. NEEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Qualification relevant to the role The post holder will have substantial post qualification experience in a management position in a l management or maintenance organisation Track record of successful delivery of change management, staff development and implementation systems and procedures within a estates management / maintenance service. Track record of delivering maintenance services and infrastructure development in a complex multi organisation. Successful record of leading and developing a substantial internal maintenance delivery operation customer focussed environment. Successfully developing and implementing strategic and operational delivery plans in respect of m services, budget, preparation and management. Successfully managed the following teams within Estates, Facilities & Capital Development: The post holder is required to be available as part of an on call team in the event of an emergency in certain circumstances to attend serious incidents. This is generally in the nature of a 24 hour, al obligation. There are no particular features of this post entailing specific personal hazard or permanent conditi of abnormal character. The post holder will, however, be expected to work on occasion on any of t sites and to be prepared to work out-of-hours either on-call or planned maintenance work. As demands on the services provided fluctuate throughout the year, fixed hours of work are not sp normal average working week is 35 hours and members of the staff are required to work at such ti reason, as are necessary for the discharge of their duties. - Health, Safety and Compliance - Environmental and Sustainability - Estates Emergency Planning & Business Continuity
