SUSTAINABILITY

As illustrated below, our sustainability strategy consists of four pillars that align with our business and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals: Supply Chain; Products & Customers; People & Community; and Environment & Climate Change . These pillars clarify the positive commitments we have made, including specific targets in areas where we have the most meaningful impact. As part of the global Bunzl family, WS Workwear supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and our mission is to lead the way in promoting sustainable practices for a more environmentally conscious world.

PRODUCTS & CUSTOMERS Transitioning to a circular economy

• Circular economy • Product stewardship • Innovation • Transition planning

SUPPLY CHAIN Embedding responsible and ethical practices

A circular economy is one that utilises waste as a resource. We are at the centre of the distribution system, which means we have the unique opportunity and capacity to aid the transition to a circular economy. Through providing products and packaging made from renewable materials, containing recycled content, or that are fully recyclable, compostable, or reusable, we are working towards keeping waste out of nature.

• Responsible sourcing • Human rights and modern slavery • Standards and certifications

Our strict Ethical Sourcing Policy and regularly audited Supplier Code of Conduct ensures that we source products in an ethical and consistent manner. Our QA team based on the ground in Asia ensures all suppliers meet our high expectations in the areas of labour and human rights, environment, health and safety, ethics, and management systems.

ENVIRONMENT & CLIMATE CHANGE Minimising our emissions and waste

• Energy and emissions • Waste to landfill • Plastic pollution

PEOPLE & COMMUNITY Ensuring a culture where everyone counts

We have ambitious plans to reduce the carbon emissions from our operations and vehicle fleet. This includes optimising energy efficiency, solar installations, and the purchase of renewable electricity. In addition, our fleet will transition to hybrid vehicles by 2025. WASTE TO LANDFILL - We operate and maintain a certified ISO14001 Environmental Management System at our Australian and New Zealand sites and have an ardent waste improvement program that will see waste to landfill (from our operations) reduce significantly in the coming years. PLASTIC POLLUTION - Plastic pollution is one of our biggest challenges and that’s why we are working hard to remove plastic from our packaging, incorporate recycled plastic in some of our garments, and partner with customers and other suppliers to facilitate behavioural change in this area.

• Diversity and inclusion • Health & safety • Indigenous engagement • Charitable giving

The principles of diversity and inclusion are at the core of our culture at WS Workwear and the Bunzl group. We strive to apply these equitable principles to our staff, as well as the broader communities we are part of. Our commitment to our staff, the community and Indigenous people is about working with organisations and individuals to turn their good intentions into real actions. We have long standing, sustainable partnerships with several indigenous organisations including the Clontarf Foundation, Cole Supplies and Heart2Heart. As responsible corporate citizens we also invest in several charities and offer community service leave to all our employees who wish to spend time supporting a charity.
