Children work together to create a reading community to explore a world of knowledge and a diverse body of literature� Children bond through shared reading passions, building identity as readers, and working collaboratively� Children support one another across reading levels, working together to reach new dimensions as readers� Children feed their curious minds by having a chance to select their own reading materials and ask and answer questions to pursue their genuine wonderings� Children practice reading at uphill levels (more challenging), downhill levels (less challenging), and just-right levels, making their own choices based on interest, passion, and purpose� Children see challenges as part of the reading process and work through the hard parts with fortitude, perseverance, and determination� Children set goals for themselves as readers, and set goals for how reading can change their lives and the lives of others�
