Pain Relief & Wellness June 2019

celebrities taking advantage of them, but you probably don’t know much about the amazing, natural fluid that allows these services to work so well. It’s called platelet rich plasma (PRP), and it’s one of the exciting new frontiers in the science of healing and rejuvenation. PRP therapy uses your body’s own blood to stimulate cell growth. It does so by concentrating the platelets in your own blood into a protein-rich liquid. Platelets are one of the four major components of human blood — along with plasma, red blood cells, and white blood cells — but they only account for less than 1% of your blood. They are responsible for aiding in the clotting of blood and supporting healthy cells. PRP allows you to concentrate this portion of your blood into a potent healing serum. It works by drawing a small amount of your blood, which is then spun down in a centrifuge to concentrate the most beneficial compounds into PRP. This plasma is then injected into your skin to trick the body into thinking it’s experienced an injury. The “injury” prompts the body to kick into healing hyperdrive, creating new, healthy cells in an effort to replace the “damaged” ones. By increasing collagen and blood flow to the site, the tissue treated by PRP becomes newer and more vibrant. We are just beginning to understand all the possible applications of PRP, but we are proud to be on the front lines of this truly revolutionary service. Call our office today to learn about all the ways PRP therapy may be beneficial to you.

In addition to our twice-monthly in-office workshops on a variety of topics, we have invested heavily in new patient education videos, so patients can better understand their options.

We will also be expanding our metabolic and lifestyle nutrition programs to help with common diseases like heart disease, diabetes, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, and other autoimmune problems that are lifestyle driven. This process obtains results on a scale that no medication can reach. We are not treating the symptoms of the disease; we are literally reversing the disease. It’s a night and day difference. We have increased the number of days that our medical director is on site, and they will begin doing more procedures and more personalized nutritional and lifestyle counseling to help enhance the health and well-being of our patients.

We are lifelong learners, and we are always studying to find better ways to help end our patients’ suffering.

We look forward to continuing to serve your health care needs for many years to come, and we do everything we can to make you feel comfortable in referring us to your family, friends, and coworkers.

Until next month!

–Dr. Vinton
