Calpex district heating pipework, a Tedom combined heat and power (CHP) unit, Hamworthy gas boilers, Presstite insulated multilayer pipe and fittings and Victalic grooved installation pipe valves and fittings were all supplied by Hevac. Delivering an efficient installation with minimal heat loss in the long term, Calpex has the world’s lowest certified insulation value (λ = 0.0199W/mK). Flexible and easy to install, the pipework is robust with a UV-resistant outer layer and can be used across district heating, residential and industrial projects. Hevac supplied a Tedom Cento 70 CHP unit, offering an intelligent structure, variable design and wide output range, ideal for installations inside buildings. The sound enclosure encasing the CHP unit is internally modified to absorb motor generator noises to the maximum extent possible and, at the same time, protect unit components from impurities and damage. Also supplied were Hamworthy
Upton gas boilers, installed by M&P Mechanical Services to maximise efficiency in the system. Tube Company of Ireland supplied large diameter pipe for risers, with the non-hot works Victaulic product selected for speed and security of installation. Within areas local to each apartment, Presstite was used for heating and plumbing. Involved in the selection of product for the installation, Hevac also worked closely with M&P Mechanical Services to offer pre-sales and commissioning support, and to schedule crane availability and road closures for the delivery of large plant items such as the CHP units.
