The Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors Ireland (APHCI) has officially launched its Apprentice Regional Roadshow with a dynamic and engaging evening hosted by Uppercross Enterprises Ltd (UEL), one of APHCI’s long-standing strategic partners. The gathering brought together a broad cross-section of the sector - including apprentices, contractors, SOLAS, SEAI, Gas Networks Ireland and representatives from Blanchfield Heating and Ken Lawrence Plumbing - to explore how the plumbing, heating and renewable energy industries are evolving in response to Ireland’s low-carbon ambitions. Apprentices shared candid insights into their training journeys, while contractors reflected on the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of the profession. Training and energy partners outlined how technological innovation,

new standards and the nation’s climate targets will define the next generation of skills. The evening also highlighted UEL’s continued commitment to supporting industry development, providing an ideal backdrop for discussion, collaboration and inspiration. The APHCI Apprentice Regional Roadshow now begins its journey across the country, creating new opportunities to connect emerging talent with industry leaders, and to spotlight the pivotal role apprentices will play in Ireland’s energy transition. Roadshow visits in 2026 will include Cork, the west of Ireland and the Midlands. For apprentices, the message was clear: don’t just think about the future, build it.
