WATERPARK COLLEGE, WATERFORD Comprising a new three-storey extension to the existing 1892 building, the project also included refurbishment of the existing school and sports hall. All services were designed with green technology in mind. Tasked with upgrading outdated systems, Murphy & Kelly delivered a sustainable mechanical solution that significantly improved energy efficiency. DUBLIN SIMON COMMUNITY A first-of-its-kind project in Ireland, Dublin Simon Community comprises a six-storey, 5,900sqm medical centre at Usher’s Island meeting the complex healthcare needs of people experiencing homelessness in the city. A full mechanical services installation was delivered by Murphy & Kelly, including an air-source heat pump, gas-fired boilers, low-pressure hot water, and soils, waste,

THOMASTOWN COMMUNITY NURSING UNIT The new 95-room ensuite bedroom community nursing unit replaces an existing nursing home deemed unsuitable for healthcare purposes. Facing the challenge of delivering primary plantroom services on a tight programme, Murphy & Kelly used early 3D coordination and prefabrication. All primary LPHW services to the main plantroom, tank room and heat pump enclosure were delivered to site prefabricated to keep the project on schedule. This approach significantly reduced on-site labour hours, ensured factory-controlled quality and improved installation safety by moving high-risk hot works away from a live construction site. Prefabrication also streamlined installation, eliminated rework and cut waste and costs. Regular communication with clients, contractors and the Murphy & Kelly team ensured expectations were clear and progress transparent.
