T he anticipation reaches fever pitch with the ar- rival of the first days of July – the final build-up to the most beloved mu- sical treat and one of the best festivals in Europe, which proverbially brings the world’s biggest stars to Serbia. With the EXIT Starseeds theme and the slogan “Awakening Our Super- powers Together", we will be able to listen to excellent music at Petrova- radin Fortress from 10 th to 14 th July, with day zero having been reserved for a special performance on the Te- sla Universe stage. Last year saw Exit once again rank among the top ten festivals worldwide, based on the selection of global audiences, on par with the world’s biggest festivals like Tomor- rowland, Glastonbury and Coachella. It should thus come as no surprise that the Black Eyed Peas are final- ly coming to this part of the world! With an unbelievable 80 million al- bums sold worldwide, they represent one of the most successful musical groups ever. With their rich collec- tion of platinum albums, they have received as many as 59 of the most prestigious music awards, including six Grammys, eight American Music Awards and two Billboard Awards. As the creators of enduring songs like My Humps and Pump It, hit sin- gles I Gotta Feeling and Boom Boom Pow, but also more recent hits like
Girl Like Me and Don't You Worry featuring Shakira, they’ve cemented their status as timeless world stars. For the first time, Petrovaradin Fortress will reverberate with the iconic riff of Killing in the Name, straight from Tom Morello, the co-founder and leading composer of most Rage Against the Machine albums. Among today’s most inno- vative guitarists, a rich career has brought Morello together with an im- pressive array of collaborators, such as Bruce Springsteen, The Prodigy and Chris Stapleton. He has show- cased a broad diversity of genres through numerous collaborations, while his unconventional playing technique, unique musical expres- sion and characteristic use of effects have enabled him to create his own language, combining rock, rap and electronic elements. Gucci Mane, the man who made trap a dominant music genre glob- ally, arrives on the main Tesla Uni- verse stage. His army of fans com-
prises over forty million social media followers, while streams of his songs reach tens of billions of viewers! His Everybody Looking album and sin- gle Black Beatles topped the Billboard charts, while confirming the extent to which he is loved among his col- leagues are his many collaborations with the world’s biggest stars, in- cluding The Weeknd, Drake, Selena Gomez, Mariah Carey, Bruno Mars and many others. Dubbed the greatest DJ of all time by many, Carl Cox returns to the mts Dance Arena for the first time after five years and will perform a three-hour set. “You have to play di- rectly from your soul here, be who you are, and that’s what makes EX- IT so special,” he once said. Popular demand among countless fans has secured the arrival of Bonobo, the maestro of blending various genres and a headliner at the world's biggest festivals, who will be coming to Ser- bia for the first time. The Tesla Universe Stage will al- so host the performances of leading artists of the new generation, in the forms of Kenya Grace and Iniko, pop- ular British group Rudimental, pop and soul sensation John Newman, the unstoppable The Exploited, Aus- tralian visionary Dub FX, dance hit- makers Willy William, Ian Asher and Steve Angello, as well as leading re- gional sensation Joker Out. Mean- while there will, of course, be many other performers on Exit’s many stag- es. Head to Exit to be in the know on what’s being listened to...
