FINANCIAL LITERACY & BENEFITS AWARENESS

Understanding how your benefits work can help protect your health, income, and family.

What is an FSA (Flexible Spending Account)? An FSA allows you to set aside pre-tax money from your paycheck to pay for eligible healthcare expenses, helping you save on taxes. Key Benefits: Reduces taxable income, covers medical, dental, and vision expenses, and easy access to funds during the plan year Important Reminder Plan carefully— FSA funds are subject to the “use-it-or-lose-it” rule What is Preventive Care & Zero Cost? Preventive care includes annual physicals, routine screenings, immunizations, and certain wellness visits. Under most ACA-compliant health plans, preventive services are covered at 100% when using in-network providers — meaning no deductible or copay applies. What is Disability Insurance? Disability insurance replaces a portion of your income if you are unable to work due to illness or injury. Short-term disability covers temporary absences; long- term disability provides income protection for extended periods. It protects your paycheck — your most valuable financial asset. Why Check Your Beneficiaries? Beneficiaries are the individuals designated to receive benefits from your life insurance, retirement accounts, and other plans in the event of your death. Keeping this information updated ensures benefits are distributed according to your wishes and avoids delays or legal complications. We encourage all employees to take a few minutes this week to review your benefits portal (ADP), confirm beneficiary designations, and ensure you understand available wellness resources.
