We are living in historic times, as 2026 marks our 31st annual sale. Our family sincerely thanks all of you, our friends in the cattle business. The demand for cattle has never been greater and high quality genetics are paying big dividends for the producer. There’s no greater reward than turning black hides into profits, made from converting grass into protein. It’s been our experience that this business is the greatest way to raise a family. Possibly, the single greatest reason we have had success with Angus cattle is that we are a family business and all of the family contributes. As you delve through this year’s catalog you can see the progress our family has made in producing the quality you’ve come to expect. The most satisfying thing to see is how well our cattle do in other hands. The impact of Musgrave genetics is well received in the market place, from local to national levels in the seedstock business, as well as the commercial sector. It has been stated that more herds have been ruined by using inferior bulls than any other one thing. Breeding decisions determine the direction of our herds and experience has proven time and again, we get one chance to do it right. Our cowherd is stacked with timeless pedigrees and proven families that earned their keep with decades of measured genetic progress. The gamble is taken out and the chances of genetic success today are better than ever. We have more confidence in this offering than any other we have bred before. With the “no second chance” mentality we kept in our own lane, and nearly 100% of this offering is sired by our genetics. The result is the best, most uniform, calf crop we have ever had. The phenotype, performance, and overall quality of this group will rival previous sets. The 2025 calf crop was a breeding accomplishment, we have a great cross selection of variety but, no bottom end all the way through. The cow herd has never been stronger, and since beefing up our bull battery, it’s remarkable how few open cows we have. Sometimes infertility is the lack of owning enough good service bulls and we see real value in bull power. Remember, your herd bull works everyday, all day, no matter the weather conditions. Take good care of him! The bulls selling have been AngusGS tested and semen tested. This group was weaned early September and developed on fescue pasture to ensure soundness. The heifer calves have have also been AngusGS tested and as always we stand behind our cattle 100%. The construction of the Midwest’s largest packing plant, Saline River Farms and Clark Cattle Co, is underway . This state of the art facility will create market opportunities for Musgrave sired genetics, ranking as one of the nations largest meat packing facilities. Over the years we have increased numbers, and beefed up quality, keeping more bulls in your price range . We select ½ of our annual bull crop for this sale, making sure the quality is strong throughout, and allowing more opportunities to buy the best of the best.

Key Considerations for Value: The "Five Calves" Rule: A bull that sires 20–30 calves per year for 3-4 years is worth roughly the value of 5 of those calves at weaning, as he will significantly improve the value of the entire calf crop. Genetic Investment: Bulls with superior traits for weaning weight, carcass quality, or maternal traits offer higher returns, often justifying a higher price tag over other bulls. Replacement Females : A significant portion of a bull's value comes from the daughters he leaves in your herd. A high-quality bull upgrades the entire cowherd's genetic potential. Break-Even Math: Consider the cost per calf sired; an $8,000 bull that sires 100 calves over his lifetime adds only $80 in cost per calf, which is easily covered by increased weaning weights. Common Pitfalls: Under-spending: Buying "second-rate" bulls can result in poor calving percentages, lower-weight calves, or, if kept, poor-quality replacement heifers.

We guarantee that all bulls are fertile to our knowledge. They have been semen tested with satisfactory BSE papers completed on 2/26/2026. If your bull becomes infertile during the first 90 days after the sale, we will provide a replacement of equal quality if available. If a replacement is not available we will issue a credit equal to the purchase price less $3000 salvage value. This credit can be used to buy another bull in a future Musgrave Angus sale. This is not an insurance policy, injuries and death coverage can be purchased immediately after the sale. We will not credit more than the purchase price paid. Shipping costs associated with an infertility case will be the expense of the buyer. Open heifers are guaranteed to breed within 6 months after the sale. Successfully flushing the heifers will null the breeding guarantee. If a female is deemed a non breeder, we will issue a credit for the purchase price less the salvage value of $3000. The credit can be used at any future Musgrave sale. Females selling with calves or preg checked as bred prior to the sale, sell with no further guarantee. Bulls & heifers selling qualify for free delivery within 500 miles. Deliveries over 500 miles will be a max cost of $300/hd. We make delivery arrangements after the sale if needed, and the cattle will be ready for immediate shipment. In past years we have made every effort to get your cattle delivered timely. However, delivering cow/calf pairs can be difficult, plan ahead and we can help guarantee a reliable ride for them. Haul your own on sale day and receive $100 off each purchase taken home.

HERD HEALTH-
The bulls were semen checked by Dr. William Johnson, Griggsville Vet Clinic. The scrotal measurements and breeding soundness exams were also administered by Dr. Johnson. Health papers will be available for immediate delivery. We are not liable for injury or death after the animal is purchased. All bulls selling have genomically enhanced EPDs and have been tested for parentage. We are not liable for parentage problems on calves, all calves will have AngusGS testing done prior to the sale. Most DNA results for the calves will be available on sale day. Any extra costs associated with export papers will be a $250 fee.

Mortality insurance will be available on sale day, death or injury after the cattle are sold is at the buyer’s risk. We highly recommended insurance for animals traveling a long distance or if you are planning to leave the animal at our ranch for an extended period of time.
