November, 2020 During these challenging times, Webster University remains committed to global citizenship and transformative education through study abroad. While restrictions and “stay-at-home orders” gradually begin to lift around the world, COVID-19 continues to have an impact on Webster University’s global network of campuses and partners. At present, there are limitations on international travel, border entry, and student visas, which vary by country. We stand ready to adapt as needed and continue to provide global education through a variety of on ground, online and remote learning modalities; and will continue to send students abroad when travel conditions allow. As worldwide and localized response to the Coronavirus pandemic continues to evolve, Webster will continue to assess the local impact on its programs and update travel policy accordingly. These directives are oriented to maintain the health and wellbeing of the entire Webster community. Throughout this process, Webster continues to promote study abroad programs to students and partner institutions. The university follows the U.S. Department of State and Center for Disease Control advisories; and, in conjunction with our international campus leadership are monitoring and assessing the safety conditions as they change and fluctuate across our global locations. All university travel policies, restrictions and guidance will be posted online here , and shared with students and partners as conditions and program statuses change. Additionally, we wanted to take the opportunity to provide some information on health and safety services for Webster study abroad participants. Webster is committed to student wellness and wellbeing and has procured an excellent student health insurance plan for study abroad through GeoBlue, a leader in global medical assistance, health benefits and safety evacuation services. Related to COVID-19, GeoBlue will cover all costs related to the treatment of the virus.

“Studying at the two Webster University campuses I chose to go to in Leiden and St. Louis were good experiences for me to see how education and social life is done in different parts of the world, the people in Leiden were more laid back while St. Louis had a more serious feel to it. It was the perfect balance looking back on it alongside my journey on the Ghana campus. I enjoyed the scenery around Leiden more with the river flowing through the city and would encourage all students who want to study abroad and take in different cultures to do so.” Nana Mark-Hansen Webster University Ghana
“My time abroad made me a more independent and confident individual. I know how to take ownership of my experience and fulfill my own expectations. I feel confident in my ability to plan out trips, acclimate to a new city, and make new friends along the way.”
“If you have the chance, take it, STUDY ABROAD! It has made me appre- ciate so much about the world, but also things at home.” Ruchii Sheth Webster University St. Louis
