The purpose of this little book is to show that the Master is-always ready to work with us in seeking to win souls, es-; pecially those of our - own household, to Him. A simple device to guide to original, in dependent lesson-study o f the International lessons has been published, and is now in its third edition, by Rev. Richard W. Lewis, D.D., Dean of Bible, John Brown College, Siloam Springs, Ark., of which device the Sunday School Times says : “ It is so ruled as to make a suggestive and simple blank page for classifying and noting the facts of every Sunday-school lesson, all so simply- arranged, and so clearly, that they invite response. Each page lures the teacher to do! the things called for by the headings of the blanks, and suggested in its prefatory words. The Record and the Bible are to be carried into, class, but no other helps. The work o f all Sundays is conveniently preserved also by this book, and is thus at hand for reference in future work.” The very act o f reading the Scripture lesson over three times, after the little prayer of the Psalmist, “ Open thou mine eyes that I may behold wondrous things out o f thy law,” must bring God’s bless ings upon the use of this unique. “Lesson- study Record.” Then the mere act o f writing down in blank space duly pro vided: first-, the places; second, the per sons ; third, the condensed FACTS, and then the spiritual deductions; from these facts, must bless both teacher and pupil. Then there is space for “added” or gleaned thoughts, found in “helps,” or picked up in teachers’ meetings. The price is fifty cents, and thé Record, which fits into any teacher’s Bible easily, lasts a whole year.—B. — o — Tested Programs for Special Days B y B ernard C. C lausen , D.D.
